Cherry tomatos are a family favourite and are great fun to grow. This tall, vigorous varity will give you plenty of tasty tomatoes, ripening to a fabulous deep purple colour to give your salad some extra style!
How To Grow
This pack of 10 seeds can be sown between February (indoors/under cover) up until May. Indoors plant in seed trays, egg boxes or plastic containers on sunny windowsills and shelves.
From April, you can plant seeds outside in pots, growbags or borders but do watch for frost as tomotoes are not hardy.
Pot up into larger approximately 8cm pots when the first few true leaves appear (the second set of leaves) and the plants are approximately 8cm tall. Use a good quality organic potting/ seed compost.
Try to keep the watering consistent and try not to let the plants dry out. Support this tall variety with strings or canes and pinch out the side shoots that grow from the base of the leaf joint, but not the flower stems.
Once the plants have set 3 or 4 trusses of fruit you can pinch out the growing tip of the plant. Remove older, yellowing leaves from the base of the plant and this will improve light and air flow to the lower trusses of fruit. Harvest your tomatoes when ripe from June until October.
A pack of seeds makes a lovely gift for a beginner gardener, and you can also add as part of our seasonal Nature Garden Gift Box.
