A crisp white organic cotton t-shirt with a round neck, rolled up sleeves and darts.
An organic cotton t-shirt in pure white, designed for a relaxed and stylish fit. These tees make great everyday basics, with attention to detail in the rolled sleeve and side darts. You can choose your size based on how neat you want the top to look - I prefer the tidier look, whereas my daughter (aged 12) goes for the oversized look. For nightwear, team up with our range of fairtrade Pyjama Bottoms. Pictured (image 4) with Charcoal PJ bottoms and Kimono Gown.
Our collection of organic tops are made from 100% Organic Ring-Spun Combed Cotton, which translates to a very soft, high quality cotton that is a joy to wear. Wash at 30 degrees. Avoid washing with items with adornments that could snag the cotton, like buttons and zips.
Also available in white. Sizing is small (UK 8-10), medium (UK 10-12), large (UK 12-14) and x-large (UK 14-16). Choose your size from the dropdown menu.
Sourced from Belgium company, Stanley/ Stella. Ethically made in Asia.
Why organic cotton? No chemicals are used in the growth of the plants, versus the high pesticide use on traditional cotton crops (the most pesticide dependant crop in the world!).
By avoiding pesticide use, workers and farmers escape the chronic health problems and fatalities common in non-organic farming. Wildlife, on which pesticide use has devastating effects, is unharmed and even supported in organic farming (read more here).
There is significantly lower water usage - 1kg of organic cotton uses 7,000 litres versus an eye-boggling 29,000 litres for the equivalent in conventional cotton.
Our organic tops enjoy multiple accrediations, including membership of the Fairwear Foundation which ensures improved and fair pay and working conditions.
End of Life The joy of organic cotton is that it will biodegrade without leaving any nasty, pesticide tainted residue. These tops can be worn many times, before being downgraded to cloths, and finally the compost heap or fabric recycling.
