A reusable coffee cup made from bamboo fibre, making it light to carry and easy to drink from.
A 12oz reusable ecoffee cup made from natural fibres and weighing in at a featherweight 135g. A quiet, dusky blue suited to all tastes. Stylish and sturdy, with a resealable 'no drip' lid, this cup is an excellent replacement for single-use coffee cups and easy way to be more eco friendly when drinking coffee out and about.
The main cup is made from corn stalk and bamboo, both grown as sustainable crops. A small amount of resin is used to bind the fibres together, and consists of aloe, soy and <3% melamine. The lid and sleeve are made from food grade silicon (sand and oxygen). Whilst not biodegradable, Ecoffee has made sure that all components of their cups can easily be recycled with them, soon to be made into new Ecoffee Cups (see below).
The great news is that most coffee shops now give a discount to customers who bring their own cup (Pret and Costa are two examples), so your cup will pay for itself in just a few months.
BPA and phthalate free Dishwasher safe (although we recommend soap and water for prolonged life) Microwave safe Cup made from sustainable bamboo fibre Food grade silicone used for the lid and sleeve
About Ecoffee Cup Ecoffee Cup is an independent UK business based in Peterborough. The founders were driven to design a reusable cup in response to the frightening discovery that an estimated 3 billion disposable cups are used in the UK alone every year, most of which are not recyclable (less than 1%) and end up in landfill (or even worse, our countryside and our seas). Ecoffee Cup imitates the lightweight feel of a disposable cup, with the feel and sturdiness of thick cardboard. It is made from the world’s fastest growing, most sustainable crop – bamboo.
Sustainability Manufactured with low-energy emissions in China, near the source of the bamboo in Anjo County. Ecoffee Cup is committed to keeping its carbon footprint small and to ethical production, and visits the factory regularly. Their production facility has SEDEX and BSCI accreditation, to ensure that working conditions are ethical and fair.
End of Life Whilst the need for durability means that the cups are not biodegradable, Ecoffee do have a closed loop system with Terracycle whereby you can return your cup, or any component of your cup, back to them via Freepost. Just pop into suitable packaging and address to FREEPOST ECOFFEE CUP. Some of the recycled product will soon be used for new Ecoffee Cups!
