An eco friendly non-scratch loofah sponge which is a no-brainer swap for disposable sponges and scourers. This loofah sponge is hand-made in Egypt from the sustainably grown loofah plant. Loofah products kept on popping up in my research, and I have read many great reviews on their versatility and practicality. Time to stock them, I thought!
They more than live up to their reputation, and are one of my favourite washing up and cleaning utensils. This particular sponge is designed for washing up but suitable for any cleaning job, including washing yourself in the bath or shower (but do keep a seperate one for this!).
It is non-scratch but has enough of a fibrous texture to remove light grime, whether on plates and pans or the side of the bath. The loofah expands when wet, to become soft and flexible, and allowing you to get into tight spaces.
Rinse thoroughly after use. I throw mine into the washing machine at least one a week for a deeper clean. It will shrink a little bit but they are a decent enough size for this not to be an issue. It will last for around 6 months, depending on regularity of use.
Plastic-free and vegan friendly.
All LoofCo products are made with the sustainable plant fibres of loofah plant and coconut (Loofah + Coconut = LoofCo!). Their range have been designed as a plastic-free altertive to plastic scourers, brushes and sponges. The products are ethically made using traditional techniques in Sri Lanka and Egypt. Sustainable farming methods help to protect the farmers and the environment. Coconut and Loofah are fast growing renewable materials that absorb CO2 when growing. They also use coconut by-products and save them from being wasted.
End of Life
Loofah sponge is 100% biodegradable and compostable at end of life and can easily be cut up and used as kindling.
