Organic Cotton Linen Bag - Set of Three

A set of three lightweight organic cotton produce bags with a drawstring closure. Their primary purpose is to replace single use disposable plastic bags often dispensed at supermarkets and markets for loose fruit and veg. Keep a couple in your bag, ready to fill with loose food items at a moments notice; mushrooms, carrots, apples and even rolls and pastries from the bakery. The drawstring top prevents anything from falling out. 

Just pop on the scales as normal and voila! All ready to transport home and store.

These beautiful natural organic cotton produce bags are handmade for us in the UK using GOTS certified organic cotton (grown without pesticides and ethically traded). They are pre-washed and light, with a natural undyed drawstring and the label is made from organic cotton too, using eco ink. 

Available in two sizes; standard (as with this set) and bread. Size: 34cm x 28cm. Please note that you will receive three of the cotton produce bags in this size.

Cool machine wash and air dry is best. Please expect some shrinkage as this is a natural material.

About Do Your Bit
Teal McGurk of Do Your Bit was one of the first suppliers that we worked with at TWH, and one of the first people in the UK to be making produce bags. A few years on and Teal's produce bags are now extremely popular! She continues to make all of her beautiful organic cotton produce bags by hand, with help from another seamstress and her husband. We worked together to create a larger produce bag, our custom made bread bag. A kindred spirit, Teal has always had a passion for living sustainably, choosing eco-friendly options when possible and helping others to do the same.

End of Life
The bags will last for many years to come. As they are made from unbleached cotton, they are 100% biodegradable at end of life. Even better, you can place them into fabric recycling or cut into strips and use as kindling.

(A note on unbleached cotton - the pristine white colour often associated with fabric is unnatural and often a result of bleaching and other chemical processes. Hence our drawstring bags and bowl covers are an off-white/ cream colour).
