Care Instructions To clean, simply shake off crumbs and wash or wipe down with water (no hotter than luke warm). You can use a mild dish soap if you wish. Air dry, fold and store away for another day. Beeswax wraps last for approximately one year with use a few times a week. The smell is strong initially, but will fade with use. Do not use for raw meat and keep away from heat sources such as hot water, ovens, dishwashers and microwaves. It can be used in the freezer, but for no longer than a few weeks as the wraps allow food to breath.
Sustainability The beeswax wraps are made by Bee's Wrap, a small company based out of a smallholding in Vermont, USA. The company was founded in 2012 by Sarah Kaeck, who wanted to discover a more sustainable way to store food, and avoid using plastic. She combined the age old tradition of wrapping food in cotton, with an infusion of natural beeswax to create a compostable alternative to plastic.
Organic cotton is used to make the wraps, and the beeswax is from sustainable managed hives (no bees were harmed in the making!).
End of Life Bee's Wraps are fully biodegradable and compostable. They also make great firelighters, just cut into strips and add to your fire.
